Question: “Is there really something going on between Chris and Jill? Capcom has this trend to not show relationships between characters. But are you going to at least bend these rules a little bit and at least show that there will be something that shows these two are together? Just so we could set our minds at ease, after ten years of these non-romantic relationships between lead characters.”

Answer: “For the Resident Evil series, it’s kind of a rule for the scenario writers that we don’t have these romantic relationships in the games. If Chris were real, and you asked him what the deal was with him and Jill, he would just say “Oh, well, she’s my partner, you know?” but deep down inside you know they probably have some kind of feelings for each other. They just don’t say it.”

I like how they put that exact same questions in the game. Not to mention the “Maybe he’s already taken?” as he shows no interest in Jessica.
